We attach an eye hook to the ceiling, wrap wire to it & the tree. Has worked on both real & fake Christmas trees. Cat's have not knocked down since. 🎄
In our large living room my parents learned that their cats were going to get in the tree so they installed wires to keep the tree safe.

MY CAT TRIED TO Electrocute HIMSELF BY CHEWING ON THE WIRES OF THE LIGHTS WHILE ON THE TREE. HE SURVIVED, BUT WE ALL HAD HEART ATTACKS WHEN HE SCREAMED WHILE WE WERE HAVING DINNER. LUCKILY WE HAD TIED THE TREE TO THE CURTAIN ROD.🙀😸

I some countries , People put the tree upside Down from the ceiling, maybe because of this ? Chewing wires Is dangerous for the kitty ( swallowing wire parts,electric shock ) , small plastic or glass , Sharp broken pieces) .

I've had many cats through my years, and they all did the same thing. My youngest daughter has 3 little monsters she has to keep out of the 7 ft. tree I gave her a couple of years ago, I don't have room for now. She's after them every day. We love our animals. God bless 🙏

We have our tree tied with a cord on each end of the curtain rod.

when I was a kid in the 90s we had a lot of cats, ate to be exact and there was always three to four of them in the tree at a time and even as a kid I thought it was cute and adorable because all they want to do is go in there and lay down and look cute

Mine don't fool with our ee but of course our tree is really small and they just aren't interested but if we had a big tree im surethey would be more apt to climb it and play with the ornaments! I couldn't get mad at them even if they did! I would be scared though that they might try to chew a wire and electrocute themselves so i'm just glad ours is small and they leave it alone!
