Tucked against the edge of the Angeles National Forest, the Littlerock Dam and Reservoir once offered Palmdale and the surrounding Antelope Valley a rare escape from the desert heat — a place for fishing, boating, swimming, and simply being near water. Built in 1924, the dam has supplied water and flood control to Littlerock and Palmdale for a century, and for generations it doubled as one of the area’s most beloved recreation spots.
