that's also what they call "common sense" but unfortunately it's not common amongst most 👍
I drove semi over the road for 27 years and I always appreciated it when drivers changed lanes for me !
Yes, the car driver was courteous and used common sense, but remember it is not required by law.
the car or truck entering the highway has a yield sign that means slow down or stop until you can enter the road safely. so the car did not have to move over per the letter of the law.
You can see this every day on the roads around here (NE TN). True, there are a few boneheads who either don't know it's the law, or they don't care!
you know you stop and think about it from a truck driver's perspective. we don't even want to be with you four wheelers especially in cities or bigger cities. but yet you restick restrict us to the right two lanes so we got to fight every one of you. why don't you let the trucks are in the outside too Lange and you run the right lanes through traffic stays left sure would make City travel a lot easier people LOL maybe kind of sort of
rules of the road keep right except to pass move over after passing, slower traffic keep to the right. if you are being passed on the right on the hiway you are in the wrong lane.
did they stop teaching this in Drivers Education class???
Common sense driving no longer exists, too many Entitled Drivers who know their "Rights"
People don’t even know what a turn signal is made for anymore!!!
I do that. Common sense.
Drivers today will let you run out of merge lane before they let you in. Taking drivers training out of schools was a huge mistake. We had 1 hour everyday for 3 months learning from a book. And once a week we drove on a training course. Now parents teach their kids how to drive or pay for an instructor. What if the parents are bad drivers? Oh well I guess.
Not everyone has good road etiquette!
Most do but it's not required to move over. Entering traffic must yield to highway traffic. Driver only moved over since the left lane was empty.
Just common sense that isn’t very common these days!!
It’s amazing the people who don’t have enough brains to know this .
I thought that’s what we do and I have seen 99.8% of drivers do?!!! Where have you been driving that this is not normal?????
I always do that and I flash my lights to let a car know they are clear to change to the lane I am in. IT IS CALLED COMMKN COURTESY!!
I do that for truckers
shouldn't be the right lane anyways
This is incorrect information! It’s incumbent upon one entering the highway to adjust speed.
but that's not the law ok . semi truck needs to yield the right of way.. you will be ticketed 👍
I always do that. If you’re not, you need to go back to drivers Ed.
I do that all the time
l do that All the time. Get in left lane
I always do this if possible.
it's also what they call common courtesy thank you for that driver we do appreciate it Even though he doesn't have to get over but it was nice for him to do it
Common sense. Do unto others rule applys here.
it always irritates me off whenever I see people riding on the right side of the road coming up on an onramp. especially when there's clearly a vehicle trying to merge. common courtesy says to move over. common sense says to move over. it's amazing how many people don't do that. in my experience it's mostly been big ass trucks and people with Trump stickers on their vehicle. just saying
Actually, that wa done because there was room for them to do it. It's the responsibility of the oncoming, to make sure they are able to, safely, enter the highway. Even if there is room to move over, the car does NOT have to move over.
yeah I do that. not just for semis but for other vehicles. I know they're going to be trying to merge so why not give them the opportunity. it's called courtesy. and if a semi is in the right lane coming up on the area where somebody is going to need to merge. I will either slow down or speed up if I'm in the fast lane giving that semi the opportunity to move over to the fast lane so they can allow the person to merge into the lane of traffic. again it's called courtesy thinking about the driver and if I back off because I'm not going to pass him soon enough or if there's a big line of cars behind me that are going to be ignorant and not leave him room to get over, I will back off a little bit flash the lights so he sees I'm letting him in to the lane. if more people drove like this then we would have less accidents. also leave room between you and the person in front of you. there's no reason to be driving one car length behind another vehicle at 60 mph
that's all good when there is room, but if it's heavy traffic don't expect it.
I do it all the time
5 stars ⭐️
That's someone paying attention to the road and their surroundings and not soemone just aiming their car down the road thinking they are the only ones on it.
I’ve done this for years as well as blinking my headlights to let other drivers it’s safe to move over! I’m 81, still driving and use common sense!💕
Been doing that since I got my license (50+ years ago). Simple courtesy & common sense. Too bad those are so uncommon these days.
Amen 🙏🏼 awareness, kindness 🙏🏼 I do that 🌸
The way I drive every day. Maybe I deserve a ribbon too. I’ll probably just get a participation ribbon.
technically it tis the trucks responsibility to merge over it isn't the small cars responsibility. it is written in the manual. and 2 yes he was a nice driver by merging over to let him in. but he didn't have to.
Exactly!!
That should be mandatory. Those poor Big Rig Drivers have it rough. Give them space. Or else you won’t receive your packages, groceries or anything else
Well it would be nice if truckers would slow down when going through the cone zone 47 years working on freeways and trucks are the most un safe drivers to us so SLOW DOWN
Yeah to many people think they are to good
I’m one of those conscientious drivers - I look ahead anticipate and driver the correct way !! It’s more common sense than anything… but that’s where most fail 🤔!!!
I do that but wow most other drivers are in their own world.
That's me👍
of course.
The turn signal was a nice added bonus. All around 💯
everyday
It's up to the driver who is merging into traffic to yield. I will move over to allow a big truck in IF I'm able to do so safely. Most people feel you are obligated to allow them in. Most don't even bother to slow down prior to trying to merge.
I do that all of the time. I drove all day for my job saw all of considerate driver’s especially to truckers but also some real ignorant drivers.
Sad you have to show that! But it’s gotten crazy on the road! Some people drive as if gas’s is free!
Looks like my state
That’s what you should do!
I was raised to respect truck drivers. I'm 67 and believe it's something anyone who's learning to drive should be taught.
true heart and soul that blesses us all
I always move over if nothing is in the lane next to me.👍
Lazy people do not use their turn signals. Very little effort required, nice to see
