It’s not the art or style, it’s the person and their sense of determination and discipline. I’ve known JKD fanatics get whipped by basic boxers, karate guys beaten by Muay Thai practitioners etc etc. What I’ve discovered and what Bruce would even appreciate is that when you find your technique is ineffective or wasted movement to the intended target, refine or improve it, whether that means learning from the guy who just bested you or isolating yourself in introspective study on why you were slower, ill positioned, off angle etc then change it. Or as that adage even stated, “insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
