I once ran over a car wheel and tire, that dropped off from under car hanger. At 70mph on a 2 lane highway, a safe following distance evaporated very fast. I barely had time to check oncoming traffic, turn left between two oncoming cars, back again to avoid head on, and still ran over it with my back, right wheel. This in a Chev. Trailblazer. Trailblazers turn sideways and back real well. Anyway, a wheel and tire, (especially a truck..) is a very dangerous thing, and probably more often than not, causes somebody some real headaches, nothing to laugh at!😲
The best one is when you are in heavy traffic next to a big truck and one of his tires blows out.
Do you mean the wheel without a vehicle or maybe the truck lost it. I'd think if the truck lost it it would have been farther ahead of the truck because when it came loose, it was traveling same speed as the truck. Since it didn't have the drag of the truck anymore, it would initially get ahead, but because it couldn't control its speed, it would eventually get slower. Someone tell me.

Appears that the vehicle doing the recording is the one that lost the tire. Problem is that it is moving to the right also. Was it able to stop before slamming into the truck?

February, 2023 was driving on US75 North and ran over a tire with all the parts inside the middle of tire!! Flatten both tires on the passenger side and busted up the right front fender on my Mazda CX-5!! Traffic was heavy but everyone was driving at 80 mph and couldn’t move to miss it!! Very expensive repair!! The police that came out said it was a tire off of a trailer but still did help me any!!
I was in a Monti going south on I-95 near Stanford, CT . A tracker trailer was rolling/ bouncing toward us . It hit the right side of the car. The whole length of the car was damaged. It passed right by the passenger seat…only bc the owner swerved enough so it didn’t hit us head on! That was close! They said a tire and rim would weigh about 300 lbs.
