🌧️ Rain Water 🌧️ Rain Water is the second of the twenty-four solar terms. The east wind thaws the frozen earth, scattering into rain. From this point on, the chill gradually recedes, and heaven and earth begin to speak in a gentler tongue. The silent branches of winter are about to be quietly awakened by the first gentle rain. The ancients divided Rain Water into three pentads: "otters sacrifice fish," "wild geese return north," and "trees and grass sprout." Otters lay the fish they catch along the riverbank as if in offering; wild geese, sensing the rising yang energy, fly north in formation; the earth's qi ascends, and the first hints of green emerge—all things respond in their own way to this tender invitation. "Good rain knows its appointed time, arriving right when spring begins." Rain Water is nature's first gift to spring. The rain at this time falls unhurriedly, seeping gently into the soil, awakening the sleeping seeds within.
