The pole vault is measured by the height of the crossbar the vaulter passes over without knocking the crossbar off of its support. in the background is a large light which reads 630 feet. Which might possibly be the latest measurement of a javelin throw. I am just plain appalled by the group stupidity and blindness demonstrated by the previous comments.

That was a very impressive vault, but that bar is not six stories high! πŸ€”

630 feet would be as a 63 story building. In all construction they figure 10 ft pe story on the average

It is 6.30 meters, not feet. That translates into a 20’8” pole vault. The Poole that post stuff like this are stupid!

He's lucky he didnt get impaled by his pole. Back in the day , for the high jump , we landed into a sand pit. I had an accident my final jump. My arm hit the bar going across causing me to land on my back knocking the wind out of me. While I was rolling on the ground in pain one of the side bars/poles was rocking and finally tipped and hit me in the head. Trying to recover and get up , the second side bar/ pole hit me across the chest. I was drove off the field. I got stitches and bruised ribs .

He hit the bar with the bottom of his ribs. Which means he failed to clear the height. You are only successful if the bar stays in place.πŸ‘

It says 6.30 on the sign on the left. I assume that would be 6.30 meters, which is about 20'-8.0" Pretty damn high.

how someone could state 630 feet is stupidity showing. it may be 6.30 meters which is a little over 29 feet which is amazing. I remember when poles were made of bamboo and didn't have that spring effect. when they came out with fiberglass poles there was a big controversy over it because the thinking was that spring effect made it illegal. πŸ˜†

I polevaulted in 9th grade. I did good placed all the time but my pole didn't bend, so I was vaulting straight pole no bend. in my senior year the pole bent scared me to death. needless to say I was done as a pole vaulted. my highest straight pole 11' 6"
