I was a catcher and there was nothing wrong with what that runner did in the least. if your crying about that find another position

First off he didn't "tackle" the catcher. He ran into the catcher because the catcher ran down the baseline and intentionally got his path to the base.

isn't the runner allowed to try and make the catcher drop the ball? especially one who blocks the runners path? if catcher was off the path and reaching in to tag the runner it would be a different story.🤔

the runner didn't know the catcher had the ball until last moment the catcher was in the runner's path. the runner imo tried to avoid a massive collision when he realized he was out by a long shot

can't block the run.... if he has the ball he should've been at the home plate ready to tag the runner.... he was a ways away from home plate and blocking the runner.... one day the catcher is actually going to get plowed over by someone who isn't going to stop....

That was a love tap compared to what it could have been. If the catcher has the ball, he can stand in the base path. If not, he has to get out of the way.

I was a catcher, runner is out. if he wanted to he could charge harder at the catcher. he made the right decision. I used to love players trying to charge the plate. I had on the protection and a catchers mit makes a good club.

None of that would have happened of the infielder hadn't slowed the outfielder down while trying to be a hero. That outfielder would have easily gotten to that fly ball, but seeing the infielder caused him to slow and yield the ball to him.

He never tackled him…he actually held up and conceded the out so the catcher wasn’t injured. This was sportsmanship by the offensive team and the defensive team showed they’re all punks!

the catcher ran up the base line to make the tag. nothing the runner could do at that point other than run into the catcher. you dont slide from a place you cant reach the plate. catcher is lucky the runner chose to slow down before making contact.
