He could've run over the catcher. He held back.
I was a catcher, runner is out. if he wanted to he could charge harder at the catcher. he made the right decision. I used to love players trying to charge the plate. I had on the protection and a catchers mit makes a good club.

the catcher ran up the base line to make the tag. nothing the runner could do at that point other than run into the catcher. you dont slide from a place you cant reach the plate. catcher is lucky the runner chose to slow down before making contact.
He never tackled him…he actually held up and conceded the out so the catcher wasn’t injured. This was sportsmanship by the offensive team and the defensive team showed they’re all punks!

Well that was an overstated nothing burger
First off he didn't "tackle" the catcher. He ran into the catcher because the catcher ran down the baseline and intentionally got his path to the base.
If you're in the base path, you're fair game.

Technically when the catcher is blocking the baserunner he can hit him. It happened to me once the guy hit me way harder than in this video. What goes around comes around though. Next year when we played them in soccer I took his leg out and dislocated his knee. Sometimes patience pays off 👍🏼
