This actually happened to us in Westland Michigan. We were there for a few years.. asks one day the real owner so happen to visit the house and we were living there. Luckily for him that me and my brother was gone.. cause it wouldn’t have ended well at all due to the fact he just went in and no one knows him. Luckily it was revolved, but we did have to move because some one was interested in buying the home.

This happened to my mom we rented a house lived there for 6 months and then one day some guy showed up who owned the house he no idea we rented it luckily he ended up letting us stay and the false landlord got arrested

I have read about people being scammed all the time regarding housing. She may very well have been scammed and gave her money to a crook. Thats a lot of money to give up when you're saving. However, if she's not part of it, I would call in an cc let my job know that I have possibly been scammed and I will be late because Im working with police. I would work with police until this is resolved. Now. if she's not part of it, see if she can work with owner to rent to purchase or buy it outright. I rather buy than rent to have equity. People who are selling may want to hire a house sitter until sold, there are crooks everywhere. Good luck.🙏
