I know how it sounds but I hate when I'm in a hurry and the bus driver drives slow and then bam. someone in a wheelchair that takes 5 minutes to get situated. not 60 seconds, 5 minutes. years ago there was the black lady. disabled and had a wheel chair. she would get on and the moment we move she pulls the cord to get off at the next stop. last time I saw her she rolls off and then tips over off the sidewalk. it was a bad spot to get off yet she insisted every time I saw her. her alone would take 5 to 7 minutes to deal with.
our buses have the ramp at the front of the bus and the driver just flicks a switch and the ramp is deployed.

Bus should have a piece of plywood that can be used as a ramp in cases like this. It could be stored in the area where the wheel chairs sit. No point in having someone freeze to death waiting outside.
