I met Bob Ross in 1994, he gave me his business card and told me HAPPY PAINTING, we were both USMC VETS, tho we weren't the best painters in the world...we saw the best in the world....happy trees, happy clouds ...

he taught you how to use your brushes and knife to create the illusion of depth and scale. The technique was the focus of the lesson not the picture he was painting. A finished painting was just the result of him teaching the technique. Nature's landscape's were the target of each lesson because these were the easiest for beginners to achieve a pleasingly beautiful result that built confidence and hopefully inspire them to try more difficult complex paintings of their own. THANX BOB FOR ALL OF YOUR HAPPY LITTLE TREES IN HOPES THAT YOU MIGHT INSPIRE OTHER TREES TO GROW IN TO BIGGER ONES.
