This is NOT a dream job. Talk about making an 8 hour shift endless! I worked at a former Hilton Hotel doing the night audit. On slow nights after closing out all I had to do is stay awake. By 5AM I felt like a zombie. At 7AM I struggled to remain alert while driving home. I'd hit the sack until around 4 or 5 PM. My internal clock was off.
That would be boring as hell. Feel like 24 hours of doing nothing. I like being busy. Time flies then.
This is not a dream job. Boring and brain numbing.

dude it's not a dream job I was 20 yrs old and our gas powered air compressor pressure valve broke so I had to sit there all day 9 hrs ever 30-60 pull on a little ring to relief pressure and absolutely sucked

in railroad terms he is a switch tender. There used to be one at Union Station in Los Angeles. He worked 12 hours a day, and tended 1 switch. He'd get a call on his radio to move the switch. Then he'd go back to his motorhome until they called again.
