And ALL that is necessary was to fear monger with propaganda about the “evils of socialism” and feed their desire to appear “superior “ by stroking their egos for “ not wanting government handouts “! The most masterful use of this tactic was by former REP Steve King when his district suffered catastrophic flooding ! He began by telling them how PROUD he was of their self sufficiency and not WAITING on the government to save them like ( incoming dog whistle) “those people in New Orleans after Katrina!” THEN after their motivation to PROVE they WERE SUPERIOR to “those people” kicked in, he delivered the news that there WOULD BE NO HELP COMING! Even though that’s what THEIR TAX DOLLARS should have provided! Played them like a fiddle!
