I remember her. and that move. great skater. never got the credit she deserved..
It’s not her skin color. She was knocking it out until she fell. After that she knew she’d lost the gold. The reason the backflip was banned in ‘76 was because the judges said no one would ever be able to land that on one skate. She proved them wrong going out the way she did. She might not have gotten the gold but she proved she rules the ice more than anyone else with that move.
I'm never forget watching that in real time! An incredible athlete never truly honored for her skills.

I watched these Olympics, and she fell during her routine. She really wasn’t that artistic either. She had great raw talent, and I feel that if she had the right coach she could have been better.
They need better judges . wtf is wrong with her doing her flips . Can you do that on ice ? 🧊 I thought the rest of her performance was wonderful. What does color got to do with talent?
