that's combat engineer stuff right there like a pontoon bridge to cross a river if they even use those anymore back in the 70's combat engineers used pontoon bridges I'm sure technology has changed since then

In 1985 and 1987 I went to Turkey with my National Guard Unit and it was the rainy season. Many areas were 3 to 5 inches of mud. That would have made things a whole lot better. Then before we could load our vehicles onto the boat to bring them back here we had to scour them completely and they were inspected by a customs officer with a white glove (literally) and if he found any dirt we had to do the whole process again. Reason? They had an enzyme in their soil that stunts the growth of plants and vegetables and such and if it came back here in the US it would spread like wild fire into our soil. The largest watermelon we saw was smaller than a basketball. So this piece of equipment would have been invaluable to us.

what terrain would this be used in that you couldn't just drive over especially in a military vehicle?

AI laying down a floor. Don't hire AI it didn't prepare the ground nor cut the grass and it won't finish the job.🤔

Extremely muddy roads, like in tropical areas.
