Man back when I was a mechanic I never wore gloves !! And I don’t see how you could stand to wear gloves my hands would be sweating all the time and getting in my way !! I know mechanics that do wear them but I don’t see how you could ! But I guess if you can then sure do it !!

??? If you do not have the proper tool, a gear lock made for that model and a lot of different types for every manufacturer this seems to work? I'd not try it if I had to use an impact to remove something that would put pressure on those gears. Could damage or break the teeth.
