A player is allowed to reach over the net so the hit WAS legal....until she touched the top of the net, which is a big "no-no"... Assuming we are playing by traditional English rules then she loses the point and must go to the ref's chair where she will be given a proper spanking before the match can continue, which is why people say they got "spanked" upon losing a match.
