I’m stuck in a wheelchair right now and am amazed at the lack a disability options there are…For example: Disability parking with a ramp BUT when you get to the door- there’s NO disability options to open those heavy establishment doors!!! What in the world!

there's no design to improvise an escalator... There's supposed to be an elevator or elevators! if not you need to complain to the mall cuz it's the law. now if there's an elevator and you're are taking the escalator in a wheel chair is at your own risk cuz you can fumble all the way down!
the problem isn't that she went down the escalator in her wheelchair. the problem is that she had no access to going downstairs in her wheelchair. its unacceptable how creating accessible spaces seems to be foreign still today. it blows my mind. i love that she made it work ! welcome to her world!!!...because she lives in a world where most people don't even consider anyone who doesn't walk on their own two legs. as a grandmother of a child in a wheelchair...we have to adapt and get creative every single day and in just about every way imaginable .

She took a very big rsk doing that. When I was in a wheelchair I located elevators in every store with more than 1 floor. I now use a walker and on really good days a cane. I still use elevators even if they are unconvienately placed.

Part of being 'Disabled' is also being 'Responsible' for Ones Self in that you should know whether or not any facility you intend to visit is "Disabled Friendly, since in the event an Emergency should arise, I can guarantee the majority of the people in the building are going to be more concerned for themselves and their family than they will be for you or me.
I would never risk that, and I walk with a cane.

I am in a wheelchair and I have found near every escalator there is an elevator usually close by 😆😆😆
