I'm just putting this out there , recently there have been alligators found in some of the rivers and lakes in Tennessee, not the southern part of the state either but 45 minute drive in traffic from the Kentucky state line . It seems alligators perfect warmer water but they can survive in much colder water , they kinda sleep through it like bears do . 2 theories have been suggested , 1 is people bringing them home from Florida as pets and when they get to big they are turning them loose in the lakes and rivers . The 2nd is the floods are bringing them north ,they are swimming up in high water and get stuck when the water goes back down . I live just a few miles from where they found the last one , I thought it was a joke . It wasn't ,a 7 foot alligator was found where a river enters the lake. It's got me unsure of swimming in lakes I have swam my whole life. Could one have been spotted again? They 2nd is where they would come thru in high water. What do you think ?
