After cutting the top off [and slinging around for a moment], he comes down the tree a bit further and cuts more off [with less slinging], and comes down a bit further, and cuts off more, and repeats this until he's near the ground. The tree is cut down successfully.

Dude left chainsaw running the WHOLE time he was being flung... that's dangerous as hell. My fathers buddy that got a job helping a self employed tree trimmer remove a tree that fell and was leaning on a 2 story house, with the root ball half exposed,which they tied down so it wouldn't shift, took them all day to trim the branches, all they had to do is start cutting the main trunk starting at the top, his boss told him to start cleaning up the debris and he would start cutting the trunk, when the boss was cutting at the top of the trunk, dude remove the rope holding the root ball in place, the root ball shifted, the trunk quickly stood up and tree was to wide to wrap his arms around it and it flung the owner over 100 feet and as high as telephone lines 2 yards over, barely missing a concrete drive way,broke a thigh, several ribs,collapsed a lung,broke his shoulder and an arm, he has been legally disabled ever since.
. I've done that! Did it in Florida with a Funnel in sight. The wind was so intense, after I "topped" the palm, the trunk was bent so far over,,I just stepped off onto the sand. GOOD TIMES!

too risky, in Las Vegas area I ' hear, -(you are not going to BELIEVE this, )- 2 diffrent palm trimmers dying at a different date/ same house/ one got electrocuted while cutting the palm he touch an electric hig voltage city electric cable/ the second one was attacked by a swarm of African bees and rescued too late by a telescoping firefighter ladder!ʕ´• ᴥ•̥`ʔ( ⚈̥̥̥̥̥́⌢⚈̥̥̥̥̥̀)
He is tied off really well and will come down so far to cut more of the tree. He works his way down by doing this over and over until he is close enough at the bottom to climb on down to the ground and cut the last of the tree down. Job well done...🤔🤔🤔

My brother did that but unfortunately the tree was rotted and he went down with the tree. Same kind of tree, but it was straight up not flexed and not quite that high. He didn't die but he did get injured.

If he has proper arborist equipment, he has big spikes in his boots that will help him get down the tree, as they helped him get up, and he is CERTAINLY secured to the tree with a harness. He's not flying off any time soon. I hope.
