the equipment they used that was sound has been out for sf since early 2000's there was even show explaining how it worked and that its directional and size range from the size of a small briefcase to so large they mount on tanks and ship and can liquefy solft tissue on the inside.. there is also item that works of of microwaves that when pointed at a target can make your body feel like its on fire in .5 seconds they rand the same size.. this is old technology.. what they have available to them now is much much better.. they used the sound one to 18 large groups of people or Soldiers so they don't have to actually kill them it's more of a humane way of saying go away but some will always fight and those are the ones that choose death
