When my son was very young, we were at the store. He would stick his arm out and knock everything off shelves. Under my breath, gritting my teeth I told him I was going to take him to the bathroom and spank him... he SCREAMED "NO MOM! DON'T TAKE ME TO THE BATHROOM AND SPANK ME!!!!!" Then I gave a little pinch to his thigh and he screamed "OUCH MOM, DON'T PINCH ME!!!!" He was smart, he had the whole store feeling sorry for him🤭
That’s bull. I wish mine would. I raise three boys by myself and all I had to do was give them that look. Problem solve. Parent these days want to shut kids up by giving them what they want SMDH😡
hitting a small child is repugnant. Just don't. put them in their room, turn up the music a bit where you are and they will eventually realize they will not get what they want, exhaust themselves and fall asleep.
The problem is parents are afraid of neighbors reporting them and police or social workers showing up at their door causing problems. God forbid there is an HOA! Parents will do whatever they have to do to shut the kid up and the kid knows it. Back in the day, neighbors were more tolerant. Kids could cry and nobody flinched because sometimes you had to outlast the kid by letting them cry without giving in. But my mom was different. She used to say, "You'd better stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about." That reduced my cries to whimpers and sniffles every time.😆😆😆

You can call me old-fashioned or old school but I was raised in a family of 8 kids. None of us every pitched a fit like that. I raised 4 kids the same way as me. There is a major lack of discipline in that household with this child. She or he doesn't deserve the apple cut or whole. Take that child and place them in their bed and dare them to come out of the room. They will learn quick enough screaming doesn't work.
My parents would have smacked me so hard, I’d never forget it. This kid needs therapy!
Romans in the Bible says spare the rod spoil the child. Do not allow your child to control you. Spankings NEVER killed anyone but certainly taught you the consequences of right from wrong💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️

We knew better than to act like that in public or even at home for that matter. We would have gotten our butts padded. These days are certainly different than when I was growing up. We never called adults by their first names. It was always Mr or Mrs. The rule of thumb in our house was that whenever adults are conversing. Kids were to be seen but not heard. It other words, keep our mouth shut whenever adults are speaking.

I know well my oldest at toddler age couldn’t eat a cookie unless it was a whole cookie; a chipped one was “broke” therefore making it bad to eat.

When my daughter had a tantrum at that age, I’d pick her up by her ankles and swing her around a few times and then lay her down on the couch and we’d both be laughing. Problem solved. Tantrum forgotten. Worked for me! 🌸
That sounds like a scared and emotional cry, actually scream. It doesn’t sound like a kid being a brat to me. It sounds like a kid being beat. I expected to see someone run up on whoever was making that child scream like that. Wow… all these comments.. I pray none of you have children. And, yes I do. All adults. My children Never screamed like that unless they were terrified of something. I almost couldn’t listen. Then came to the comments and read all these angry comments. We are supposed to protect the children, not traumatize them. WTH…
I never spanked my children for discipline. My question to these parents that insist on hitting their children. Does it make you feel better, good or strong to hit a small child instead of explaining a situation to them?
How a child acts outside home reflects on the parents and how they are being raised.
