I can’t under stand why people want to punish people for wanting to help others
I worked in a poor area of the city and I always made hot chocolate to warm the children in cold weather. My desk became a kitchen before Thanksgiving so the class and I made cookies for them to eat and take home. I also brought in a large thermos so everyone would have a warm meal. These children and their parents never complained. People who complain about this have never cried for a meal and someone to truly care about them.

My husband and I had trouble with NCAA rules because we had spaghetti feeds at our house for high school varsity and Jr college athletes. We were accused of being boosters providing free “gifts” to the college athletes. The high school kids had been coming to our house for years, not just on spaghetti night, to get a good meal and listen to my husband’s stories. We just continued with the kids who stayed local and they brought their teammates. Sometimes they take things too seriously.
other teachers and or the PTA or whatever need to mind their own darn business. this teacher was doing it at the kindness of her heart and with her own money. in other words it's none of their dang business what she's doing

I used to be a substitute teacher. one year this particular grade was fantastic. all the kids got along with all the other kids. A trak got along with self-contained kids. they were really super. problem was sometimes they wouldn't shut up. lol. when I knew I had this one group last period I would order a few pizzas. it was only way they would sit down and shut up lol. it worked beautifully. 👍🥰😆

Awesome. We need more charitable contributions for needy children. HOWEVER..., make sure to receive written permission from the parents and know all the children's possible food allergies and diet restrictions. If not, your good deeds to feed the hungry can become medical issues for the child(ren) and/or legal issues against yourself and the school/education institution that you represent. Good luck !

Some of these kids don't even have breakfast, the only meal they get is lunch at school and it's very sad, especially if they are poor and parents can't afford to feed them over the weekend, something needs to be done about this situation, I don't have an answer but I'd bring food if I could as a teacher 🙏

There are so many people in the school district that care about our children, i Work as a custodian and There are a lot of kids that go hungry, so what happens is it's a safety issue what you have to do is make sure it's okay with the parents.Because there are a lot of kids with allergies and other things she should not be fired , but you have to be careful! Liability, the parent could say they didn't authorize it, if I was a teacher and I wanted to give out pizza or other things , I would have to have the parents sign a letter,
