A car vacuum cleaner and a firm brush also work well. First, tap the filter a few times to loosen up the embedded debris. Then, brush along the vertical lines to pull out the larger bits of debris, then use the 12 volt or rechargable car vacuum cleaner to finish the job. This method takes about ten minutes and is far safer than exploding fireworks, i would think, but hey, if that's what you have to work with, then by all means, be careful...🤔👍
