Nice to see kids outside working. When we were kids we got exited when it snowed we made $ shoveling and then had tons of fun playing in the snow.

I remember back in the 1980s we went to a house and kids answered the door and said their mother said she’ll pay us $10 each if we shoveled their snow, despite us telling them we were charging $5 each. We were so freakin excited and did a spectacular job. When it was time to pay we found out there was not even an adult home because the mother arrived just after we were finishing up. She said she wasn’t paying us because her kids were told to shovel the snow before she left. We put all of the snow back.

I live in NW Pennsylvania and we just got over 24 inches of snow in the last few days. And unfortunately there are no kids out there doing this. It’s such a shame, we hustled back in my day.

I used to do the same thing! it teaches good work ethic, I also had a lemonade stand and anytime I see kids selling lemonade I'll stop and buy a cup. they're asking a dollar I'll give him five because it's something that will instill decent ethics into these kids. and we all know that these kids need some good work ethic nowadays👍

I offered 2 kids, that live across the street $20 each to shovel for me. I just had a shoulder replacement surgery. They came twice & did such a good job I gave them $50 each. Then on Monday, I needed help cleaning off my van. I can't lift my arm up that high. I offered $20 each again. I gave them $30 each. These kids were great! Mom & dad are raising them right. I'm on disability & really can't afford it but, it was worth it.

the lesson that this empathetic and knowledgeable man has provided to these two young workers will last forever in there life experience. They immediately equated value with progress. It is correct to teach value of one work, and the value of working hard to receive your objective

When my son was 9 or 10, he and his cousin were out shovelling. An elderly lady asked them what they charged, and they said $1! When she exclaimed "A $1!" they decided she must be poor and offered to do it for a quarter!😆

I used to do this a lot when I was a youngster. As soon as the snow stopped we went out with shovels. Usually did alright mo my Rey wise. Then would get home a complain that I had to yet shovel our walk and driveway. Was greet when I was being paid. Of course my Dad would say well fine but we will have to deduct all the free food we provided. Needless to say I shoveled our walk and driveway.
