As a former Cop I can say the amount of anguish you experience from knowing a fellow officer who has Betrayed his Oath, the same one I took, is beyond comprehension, while the amount of disgust never quite subsides regardless of how many years have passed.

sheriff's and police are two different entities. you work at the pleasure of the sheriff and can fired at any time. sheriff's are elected. Police department and police chiefs are different and it is harder to fire police and fire.
