The person who decided to pay with the counterfeit money knew that as soon as the worker passed the pen over the bill it was all over. That's why they didn't stick around long enough to be told that it was fake currency. Hopefully the security cameras were able to get the license plate numbers of the vehicle. Most places don't normally check on any bills that are $20 or less. $50 and $100 are checked out because those are the ones that are found to be counterfeit the majority of the time.
