Recaps. Tractor trailers use them. back in the 60's & 70's I can remember my dad getting Recaps. They should be outlawed!!! Everybody sees the caps fly off the tires on semis. How Stupidly, dangerous!!! I had a semi lose it's cap on a tire (in construction zone) & caused 4800.00 damage to the front-end of my car!!! How many x's do these recaps come apart b4 some1 dies or gets hurt?????

I truly hated that job. of course I was doing truck tires. The week I did it made me decide to reenlist in the Coast Guard and retire from that several years later. A harder and more dangerous job bout it wasn't 120 degrees either. I later retired again as a muralist. Man am I glad I hated the heat and working conditions. I'd like to add that I was actually the worst boss I ever had. no days off and no overtime 😄

its a way to shave tires to make them perfectly round. even new tires are not perfectly round, there are slight abnormalities. this process "shaves" the tire to perfection. they do this process for brand new cars. ever notice that when you buy new tires that the ride is never as good as it was when your car was new? Think about it.

Didn’t know recaps were still available. My dad always go recaps on his pickup back in the ‘50s. Never had a problem. This video is NOT a recap. It’s a grove. I’ve watched a recap operation and the tire is ground and a new tread is molded on.

I thought that was the process that was used for re-treads. I remember people talking about those in the 60's and 70's. Even tho, I would never use those. I didn't know that they went by different names. It makes sense to call them different names.
