I too have a "Velcro baby" that's 18! Still to this day, when she walks in the front door, the first thing she "sings" sweetly as though she's a toddler..."MOMMY"! Then proceeds to "attach" herself to my body. If I'm standing, I either have to PEEL her off, or walk with her attached. If I'm laying down or sitting, her question is usually, "can I just meld my body into yours cause it just never feels like I'm close enough!" 😑 (She's also my MOST dramatic child)
we've normalized this behavior to the point that some have grown ass adult children still acting this way. Yall need to understand the psychology of what you've created...someone who will become dependant on someone else. someone who is clingy. someone susceptible to be the victim in an abusive relationship in life. As much as it is cute for a child in this position, the sad reality is that it often shapes who you become as an adult.

A true momma's boy! I had one just like that! When I would put him in the car seat and strap him in, close the car door, he would cry and scream until I got into the car. It was sickening at times. Couldn't wait until he grew out of it. Now he's 33 and still needs his momma close by. 💖

when I tell y'all at 45 this feeling of being close or wanting to be close to ya mama is never gonna change. the great in the saying "you always marry the person that's just like your closest parent", is very much true. but, only for a lucky few.
