seriously it's 5.56 there isn't as much recoil as you may think. Being a large person you would hardly notice it at all, on the other hand a person who was 5ft and a buck nothing soaking wet would get a bruised shoulder from the recoil and have a tougher time handling that size rifle.

Most AR's don't have recoil or kick because it's absorbed by the buffer and buffer spring contain in the stock. At basic training, they had a Private shoot full automatic with gun pressed against his "privates." Nothing happened to him. So a big man like that, all he did was control barrel rise.
