Pretty unhealthy. High sodium chicken with more high sodium barbeque sauce and high sodium mac and cheese. And a couple of lousy string beans.
I'm pretty sure it would have been cheaper to roast your own whole chicken and make macaroni from scratch. You can't possibly be retired if you haven't started a meaningful career. Your life has barely started and you already have a whole bunch of kids.

Iโm sure the kids loved it and that was for you and your family. But I thank God my mom knew how to cook when we were growing up. It was a whole different vibe at dinner with the family for us. She cooked everything from scratch and we loved it. I miss her so much. 2 years now without momโฆ ๐๐พ๐๐พ

Give people a break. She cooked...going to a burger shop is not better, costs more and no leftovers for lunch or another meal if someone gets hungry...When you eat out at fast food restaurants there are lots of chemicals too...Things are coming out of the freezer prepackaged and prepared and to your plate...I came up as a little girl having a big family garden everything picked fresh...That is generally just not the case anymore...
save that Chicken add some ,carrots, onion,celery salt pepper, bay leaf littller thyme and rosemary cover with water simmer skim some fat, take out bones and Skin.Wonderful Broth!๐ฒ

Rotisserie chicken is good. I know how to cook but when we've had a busy day it's easier to buy a $6-8 chicken. I cook veggies to eat with it or make it into chicken salad. ๐ฅ

You are not retired. You are a homemaker- that is your job. If youโre able to do it, then thatโs great. I wish we could have afforded for me to stay home and raise our kids. 6 weeks of maternity leave and I was back at work and kids went into day care then private school. Iโve been actively working since I was 17โฆwhen I stop working and separate from my occupation and end my active working life, Iโll be retired.

That would be a go in our house just a lil different. I use chicken breast - saute then simmer.. my family likes kraft/Velveeta I've never used that premade one. Baked Mac is a fave here too . and def green light on the fresh green beans .. we eat sooOo many green beans. Same way but with fresh sliced garlic, I'm personally not a fan of the jarred garlic for this, and it has to be that real stick butter too. Serve with rolls/buns! New England style hot dog buns are good for this, toast em up each side.. buttery and crisp & turn chicken into sandwiches. Always a hit here.
