I had an honest mechanic too! There's a special place in Heaven for them. Most of them are out to rip you off. I recently had my central air conditioner cleaned and checked out. The technician took the housing off to clean the coils and came back in to tell me that the fan motor was running backwards. I asked him if he'd reversed the wiring, to which he replied no, he hadn't. He said he had a new motor on the van and that installing it would cost $650. I told him that I'd have to wait to have that done. I paid him $225 for the tuneup and as soon as he left I checked the fan motor myself. He had switched the wiring reversing the polarity of the motor causing it to run backwards which was causing my compressor to overheat. I switched the wires back to their proper position and the fans been running perfectly ever since.
I took my car to the gm dealer for a loud knocking sound in the engine. They fixed with a 19 cent o-ring for the egr system!
I have a mechanic that is the same way!!

Exactly, and there are more shops and mechanics out there that believe the same thing. Myself included, because word of mouth advertising is better than any purchased.

we took our car to a tire company in Maryland and bought 4 brand new tires and had them mounted and balanced as we left I checked the tire pressure gauge on my dash it was like looking at lottery numbers.
