I don't think a manufacturer's warranty is valid if you intentionally break it.

If it breaks you can return it without buying an extra warranty. SO basically you just gave them an extra $5 for absolutely nothing. Am I wrong or what but I've never been returning something and they ask me if I bought a warranty.
