WRONG. As someone who HAS played both in the NFL and rugby, I can tell you that football is more dangerous BECAUSE of the pads. players are GOING to take whatever they do to the limit allowed. Problem is: Some places on the body CAN'T by protected: knees,afms and lower leg bones, and especially the head ( even with helmets). The pads allow higher speed collisions and it the sudden stop the applows the brain to slam into the INSIDE of the skull. The AVERAGE age of an ex-NFL player is 59.5 wben he dies. Google it.
