That’s not a real torpedo that’s a sub hunter! Not to destroy the sub, there will be several of these that are dropped in and they will pinpoint the location of any sub to hide. Some of them are actually filled with noisemakers, and when the torpedo gets to the sub, it will explode just enough to allow all the noisemakers. It is carrying to attach themselves to the sub, and then they will start pinging and making so much noise the only way to sub can continue on as by surfacing and opening vents. Otherwise it would be like living inside of a drum being beaten to death by a drummer on drugs. It’s actually an incredible piece of equipment.
I used to maintain these and rotate them out of storage when I was in the Navy. They are Sub Killers.
Torpedo's are So Cool! deployed by HeloCopter, once in the water it homes-in on Target and it Speeds Away. at 90mph. underwater! hard to Escape that Speed! when it Hits, it Puctures & Blows-Up! 400lbs.of TnT which will Sink a 40 thousand Ton Ship! brake Hull apart! down she goes!
I retrieved many of these as a swimmer in antisub duties while in the NAVY. Plus the drone that dropped them.
