She did not deserve to loose her job, of all things for feeding less fortunate children
As a parent who had 4 children in school and sometimes worked at the school cafeteria I saw firsthand if those poor kids didn’t have the money it was a half a bagel for breakfast and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch. So I started sending in extra money every month and told the cashier PreK or Senior if they don’t have the money use this. And they did God Bless Them. Once other parents realized what I was doing they too started sending in money. Did it stretch our budget absolutely. Was it worth it Absolutely 💯 percent. Once a month all the kids would get a free ice cram treat to use up some of the money. This went on until the school finally started giving free breakfast and lunches to all students. Sometimes you have to do the wrong thing to do the right thing. Just as this wonderful lunch woman Ms Debbie did with a heart of gold. And a school board full of bullies. God Bless her each and every day.🙏🏼💕

As a teacher, I paid for many children's lunches! The parents usually repaid me, but if they didn't, I was still happy that their child got to eat a meal that day! I think all teachers should do that!

You are a good person. We were very poor growing up we we’re taking to the lunch rood and had to set there while everyone else was eating. I could feel my stomach hurting so bad to smell the food and be so hungry . No one felt sorry for us. So I learn very early in life do not count on anyone but yourself.
I worked in a school for 26 plus years if a student didn’t have a lunch they would get a peanut butter gram cracker sandwich that sandwich was awful.
As the greedy superintenden ts get thousands of dollars for screwing up schools education.

No child should go hungry!!!! I have gone to school to have lunch with some of my neighbor kids and to see the amount of food being thrown away is just sad!!!!! You see I was adopted at 9 years old from Bogota Colombia and I can still remember digging in the garage for food!!! So to see all that waste makes me sick!!!

in so many other countries breakfast and lunch is included for all students. here in the great USA we let our children starve. it is definitely beneficial to the child to have a nice lunch so they can concentrate on their studies rather than their growling hollow stomachs. schools need to get their act together states need to get their act together and properly fund schools. no teacher should have to purchase anything for their classroom out of their own pocket. which is done routinely by teachers because our politicians just don't care
