Guards in prison don’t carry firearms. Only those in the guard towers. People who haven’t been inside don’t realize how fast an inmate can take a guard’s sidearm out of ith holster before the guard ca. do anything about it. They have the overage and can use their better leverage to disarm the guard. So not sidearms in prisons at least as far as I am aware
