So many questions running through my mind right now. What is in that bag? Is there medication added? If so, it should be on a pump. When was that IV placed? Should be changed every 3 days. Tubing every 3-4 days. Now, even normal saline is on a pump because pumps remove a lot of guess work and lessen errors. Whatever it is, it's not even infusing! He needs to clamp that line, flush that IV, and get a new bag and tubing. There are a few scenarios in which a patient can leave with an IV (one being signing AMA waiver), but not with an IV bag!πŸ˜† Huge risk of infection. I did not mean to say all of that but, when I see things like this, I am sometimes shocked but my mind always goes to everything that can and will go wrong.
