I still don’t know why you have to have a tag and insurance on a auto that is sitting in your driveway or garage that is not drivable

They can only tow it if it’s in the street! Not in your driveway.

What would the cops do if he kept the truck in the garage? Break into the garage as well just to impound a vehicle because of its expired tags? I would think that cops would know better but apparently not.

Great judge!! This happened to my 91 year old Dad in NC!!! He passed away and the City of Charlotte kept my father's car!!!! That car was only eight years old and had only 76K miles on it. They came onto my Dad's property and went behind his fence and STOLE the car out of my Dad's backyard !!!! simply because it "wasn't covered with a tarp." !!!!!!!!! Car theft by the City of Charlotte!!!!!!

The police don't have the right to come on private property without a warrant. That's 50 states wide... I'm surprised this dingleberry police officer didn't know that

If the vehicle in my driveway is towed without my knowledge or permission by anyone, I am reporting it to the police and insurance company that it has been stolen, and demand the replacement coverage that I have paid the insurance company. I will also support my insurance company, after they honor my policy against theft, in their prosecution of all parties involved in the theft of my vehicle. Waving a badge or a piece of paper at me and telling me how legal it is to do something does not make it legal. That is what the Constitution and Bill of Rights is all about. Stop overstepping your authority and claiming that the law is whatever you claim it to be, because you are a liar who abuses the position of authority that you have aspired to, and either you don't know the law (incompetent!) or you willfully ignore/disregard the law (corrupt!) for your own selfish gains or agenda. Thank God for judges like this one! But beware, they are getting more difficult to find!

it's the city enforcement workers who didn't go to the police academy or of they did they failed. They're flexing an assumed power! Now they're getting ready to get sued and if they don't have enough time on the job will be the target for getting fired!
