What would the cops do if he kept the truck in the garage? Break into the garage as well just to impound a vehicle because of its expired tags? I would think that cops would know better but apparently not.

Before police departments inter a person private property, they need to first review the law to make a determination if they would have the rights to enter anyone property without just cause. This department didn't have just cause because the vehicle wasn't parked on the street, but on private property. Officer needs a refresher course o er that subject.

This is absolutely absurd!!! And I hope he does sue. The officers involved just gave other law abiding officers a bad name. That said it’s important to remember not all of them conduct themselves so disgracefully, but rather protect and serve with the best interests of American citizens by operating within the guidelines of the law and not that of their personal opinions.

I had a 1993 van. It was summer. I only drove it during bad weather, otherwise I rode my motorcycle to work. After several weeks I found a notice on my front door telling me to move my “inoperative “ van or the city would tow it. It was properly tagged, registered, insured and an up to date safety inspection sticker. I called city hall and requested the person who threatened me to come to my home so I could show him it was not inoperable. “We can’t do that.” “Don’t touch my van or it will not end good for the tow truck company or the city. Never heard another word from the city.
