As a retired school bus worker,.. it's a mandated rule that we checked our buses at the last stop.. not in the yard. I NEVER brought a student back with me ( 32 years )

These Bus Drivers today are a total different breed.
My neice was in 3rd grade and fell asleep on the bus. She was the last stop on the route. She was found sleeping on the bus at the bus garage. Her older brother who was waiting for her at home thought the bus was running late. After a bit he called his parents telling them the bus never showed up. Needless to say they were grateful she was found safe, but livid with the bus driver and school district!!

I got a call from an unknown but local number while wondering why my then-second grader did not get of at the stop. I answered and a woman asked if I had a son named ___ & was I looking for him. I was going full Marine and "Taken" about how I would find her. She said, sorry, no, I'm the bus driver. he was asleep under the seat. I'm headed back to you now. I was like next time start with that.😆
