Facts
You’re not old enough to know the truth! In the early 60’s when integration started , the black schools were more advanced than the white schools. I heard this first hand from a student who was transferred to our white school. All 5 of them eventually went back to the black school and it wasn’t because they were treated badly, but just they felt they got better education elsewhere! This was in NC. And they also preferred to have their own neighborhoods in the city I lived in. Segregation was just a shame, but forced integration did destroy the school system and neighborhood pride with sports and neighborhood culture!
