Why does the US Army refuse to put a backdoor on their tanks like Israel

american tanks have a secret hatch underneath the tank so they can climb out the bottom and be completely covered by tank and the rear of the tank is the magazine for all the rounds and that has to be sealed constantly only unsealing briefly to allow for rounds to be taken out so if they are hit in the magazine and it explodes it won't always kill the whole crew but the Israeli tanks don't have a rear locking magazine so they have doors to try to get out before they all blow up
