I lived on the Eastern plains in Colorado, when we'd hear that the steam engine was gonna pass through everyone would stand along the track (far enough back) and marvel at them as they came through town. Small town living isn't so bad 🥰

I saw trains like this running everyday when I was a kid. Up until I was 15 years old and we moved away from the coal mining area
only trains I see in the PNW are the occasionally very very short Amtrak trains but most of the time.I'd say 95% of the time are the black cylindrical oil trains.I swear a couple weeks ago I guessed the oil train was 10 miles long.It was ridiculously long.Personally they should only run the extremely long ones at night only.Not every medical place is understanding when your a few minutes late and was basically told if I didn't make it on time my insurance would be billed. I was so pissed but thankfully I made the appointment in time. Whew!!!
