I used to do that. Until one of my friends started laughing and asked me why I do it. I explained why. To make it harder to steal. He said all they put scotch tape over it to keep it together and then scrape it off. Never wasted my time doing that again.

You know, SOMEWHERE buried in the crazy state vehicle code handbook, in small print ..... that is probably defacing or altering the sticker and subject to a ticket. I wish I were kidding, but sadly I am not.
Good idea but I hate it when stores put prices on like that. They are very hard to remove. And she cut all the way through. Nice job Kiddo!
They steal them in the mail before you get them now . Had it done twice -
They just put clear tape over the tag and scrap it off from your plate. I even had someone cut my license plate off around the sticker.

you don't have to do this anymore. because it has you LP on it. and now cop cars are equipped with a LP reader that automatically reads the LP and the sticker if they don't match, and if the LP was stolen than they will know it. so doing this at this time is a waste because a their will still take the plate with the sticker.
I'm 53 and that trick is older than I am. Nothing to see here folks.

Florida validation stickers are already scored on the back side so you can't pull them off in one piece.
you know if you actually clean your license plate and you stick it on the right way you cannot remove that sticker LOL so I don't see no point in this

I remember back in the days having to do that to stop theifes from stealing your stickers, but now your license plate number is printed on your stick to help stop stealing, but still good idea 👍
I’ll be glad when the tabs are old days.
