Most landlords are not rich, we may make 300-400 dollars after paying the mortgage, insurance and taxes. If we don’t get the rent we have to find maybe $1600 to pay for your family to live for free.

I have known landlords who collect the rent and a week later they turn off the water and say there’s a leak and you have to move out. No refund, no money returned. This landlord did it to two families. Yes there is proper procedure but the landlord counts on you not affording a lawyer.
you know what blows in my mind a lot of these landlords that are setting people out when you walk in the houses they're sinks don't function their toilets don't flush their electrical sockets are hanging out of the wall but yet they want the people to pay rent do your job and keep the house up that they're paying rent in and maybe they will pay rent

Did the landlord do that, or did the Sheriff's office do it because of an eviction notice? If the landlord did it without a legal eviction notice, take him to court. Actually, have him arrested for breaking and entering.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a landlord or a company owning said property if, they filed the eviction process they have to wait for the due process. If she paid it she gets to show that in court. If the landlord chooses not to accept it that’s their prerogative but, either way the owner cannot move any of her belongings, she moves her own stuff and if the sheriff were involved they’d be standing right there. Working in the industry of rental properties and this is never ok?! She can take them to court especially if they ruined anything!!!

most ppl don't know what landlords have to go through. ppl not paying then you have to spend your money to have them evicted after they've been behind at least 3 months. then you have to give them soany days after they've been served then they appeal it and you have to go to court. then they appeal it then you can finally evict the meanwhile you have gone without rent money almost a year and get nothing all that time. then they tear up everything they can on their way out they steal stuff and tear that house up. now you're out money to fix it up liveable again. and have to advertise it for rent . I NEVER want to be a landlord again
Where is your receipt he can’t put your property in front of someone else’s house! Besides that is illegal by law he has to put your belongings in storage!! Honey you have to pay your rent you can’t stay anywhere for free!
So i worked in housing and 1st if you listen to her she siads they have text messages right. but what you dont hear her say is he never gave her a 3day notice or filed on her in eviction court or even took her to eviction court. She stated she told.him she didnt owe him but never once said she has all her receipts showing paid or I her defense that she put her rent in escrow because he didnt do work or anything of that nature. Now by law a landlord can not just put your belongs out as he is evicting you like he put all her entire house out without taking her to court and get judgement. Plus where was she when they did this. That landlord has threaten to eviction her and put all her belongings out and seems like she took.that landlord for granted. Text messages can't stop eviction. I would love to hear the landlords side. He or she wanted they money PERIOD POINT BLANK. Now I also will say every state housing laws are of course different but Eviction is Eviction..
irregardless if you were behind on rent, you would have to stand before a judge for eviction, and the judge would give you a certain amount of time to be out, and you would have to stand before him and give an explanation why you were not out before it would come to this. Your landlord is in a lot of trouble!

all I can say is what goes around comes around and back again. I've had some shady people in my house but I would never be able to sleep at night if I did somebody wrong. there's something about karma no matter what end of the spectrum you're on.
There is more here than you're seeing or hearing. a landlord will not simply decide one day to evict their tenant, especially if they are owed money. Throwing out a tenant means the landlord loses all they are owed and then must find a replacement tenant which takes time. moreover tenants in many states have considerable rights protecting them even without a rental contract in place. a landlord must follow specific guidelines to evict properly and those will result in a sheriff making the eviction. if this post is true then this landlord has put him/herself in a very bad situation. But I am not so sure it's true.
that's why you don't rent until the house is paid for or you live on one side in the duplex and they live in the other. or until you put back 6 months of emergency money so that is something like this happens you can pay them mortgage and get somebody else in there.

i have a friend that had to go to court because the landlord said she was behind in her rent. She was layed off her job and had to file for unemployment benefits. She is on Section 8 those payments were still made. He took her to court and had to pay the fines she had all her receipts .
It takes about 3 months to evict. by that time owner has lost 6 months rent plus costs to repair damages done by renters
