Human beings like to think that they are civilized, but to use their more evolved brains to subdue and exploit other less evolved species for selfish gain is barbarism. And we do that to each other as well in many other ways. If the day should ever come in which there aren’t enough animals to feed our appetites we will cannibalise each other. It won’t be cattle in cages and those contraptions, it will man. Slavery was an example of just how depraved humans can be. Our greed can shut down or conscience and sense of moral justness.

Without human sufferings we are unable to truly comprehend empathy and compassion. Millions of animals are destroyed each day not because of survival, but because they are weaker. Humans prey upon anything they deem weaker. We only care and want empathy from others when we are ourselves helpless and taken advantage of.
