I have worked with many different kinds of families, and it's clear that some struggle to hold their children accountable, which can lead to significant issues. Donald Trump comes to mind in this context. Additionally, dealing with children who have mental health or addiction issues can be incredibly complex, as no two individuals are alike. For a family to seek commitment for their child can be a challenging decision, and in Nick's case, it seems this action was not taken for various reasons, including guilt, shame, and a lack of understanding, as well as an unwillingness to follow professional advice. It's important to recognize that it can be particularly difficult for wealthy families to navigate situations they haven't experienced before. Blaming and judging Rob and Michele is unproductive since they dedicated much of Nick's life to trying to help him. One thing they may not have fully realized is just how dangerous mental illness can be.

But his father grew up in the same shoes. As did his sister. So it just takes the right dna to choose the right path and some people are prone to addiction ie money, alcohol, power, drugs, sex, violence. We see this all the time.

Hold on now , money can’t buy values 0r morals they’re taught and acquired over a period of time through training and interaction with others, learning art of taking responsibility , and being held accountable for your actions, than earning your own way through life and not depending on others for your livelihood, what a beg-gaining . Or you never grow up!!!

From the pictures I have seen he was treated special. Always by Dad or Mom. He was a spoiled brat that money can bring. If he didnt work where did he get the money for drugs? lived and destroyed the quest house at will. Refused inpatient rehab for drug abuse It is a horrible thing that happened but he wasnt handled properly. His parents enabled his lifestyle..
