Norway’s gorgeous, no doubt — but it’s also crazy expensive, freezing half the year, and everyone’s too shy to talk to you 😅. Coffee’s $6, houses cost a fortune, taxes eat your soul, and everything closes before you’re even ready to have fun. The people are beautiful but quiet, the weather’s dark, and bragging’s basically illegal thanks to the “don’t stand out” rule. It’s heaven… just with a high cover charge 💸❄️🇳🇴

How about insane tax rates? Welcome to socialism. Everything that is free comes out of your taxes. A 22% income tax is applied to everyone. Today, in the US, lower income and middle income pay substantially less. High wage earners in the US pay 37%. Unless you are ridiculously rich, it would be stupid to go to Norway. Norwegians would be benefitted by the US tax system actually.

And yet National Healthcare is cheaper with better health outcomes and much lower prescription drug cost and no one goes bankrupt because of medical debt. in the U.S we fewer benefits and the working class pays more taxes so the wealthy can get tax cuts they don't need. so who's worst off? Denmark sucks. we went there as liberal.. saw their crappy life for 6 months. 62% income tax. standing in line 4 hours evwry Saturday to have the trash nazis scream if you didnt sort your trash right. walking a mile in snow to return recycled bottles... no one can afford to eat out or a cheap used car. nah. we came back as libertarian and been living happily ever after in Texas.

The citizens do, just like you do. The difference is that while in the US a large percentage of that tax money is spent on the biggest military budget in the world, which is bigger than the next 10 countries combined, Norwegians and Scandinavians in general spend it on their people.
I’m an American that married a Norwegian man. We lived there when first married for around 3-4 years. I had my first baby boy there. I was in the hospital 5-6 days? That was the norm when I was there around 1990. They did it for mothers to have time for rest and adjusting to breastfeeding and bonding time. I don’t know if they still do that? Government paid mothers a stipend (?) around 6 months to be home with your baby. Also something for Dads that I can’t remember. Medical etc are all taken care of and it is an extremely safe and healthy nation all around. Well educated and all around a great place to live. HMMM…Maybe that’s where I should move to⁉️🤷♀️

Lady, you are insane! there's no such thing as "free" anything! either somebody is paying for it or somebody is giving away their services for free (making it "not free" for those giving it away)! if you want 80% of your paycheck to go towards these programs, the United States could have these same social programs, until such a time as everybody quits working and nobody's earning anything, and nothing is free, and nobody's got anything.
