NOT FAKE! That’s a very old scam! My 1st job as a cashier in a busy drug store 50 years ago this happened to me twice in 1 day. Cashier’s should always lay the cash tendered on their draw while making change so they can count it back accurately. If the customer starts talking about making change before that transaction is completed, cashiers are instructed to immediately close their draw.
