explain this.... If the wallet had 8000 in it, why would the finder only take $3000 leave the rest in the wallet and then drive 20 miles to return the remaining amount.👍

Whatever cash I have in my wallet is inconsequential. I'm just worried about my credit cards. So when he returns the wallet... piece of mind. While the owner is a piece of... 💩

I would have taken it to the police station. I found a wallet in the middle of the road. I took the wallet to the clerk of court. I didn’t feel like looking 👀 inside for the owner address. I am not a detective 🕵️.

If there was $8000 in it, why would he take $3000 and then bother to drive 20 minutes to return the wallet? The owner of the wallet is lying. He should pay the court fees and reimburse the man for travel expenses

If you find a wallet, why would you only take $3000 when it is $5000? Why not just take the whole thing he was trying to be a good Samaritan and then get accused of talking money out of the water when you could’ve took the whole damn thing

I found a wallet at McDonald's and it had at least 3/4-in of crisp 20s 50s and 100s and I returned it to the counter and told them I got the guy's number and I counted the money you better not touch it I'm sure he'll come back and claim it anyway I got a hold of the person that owned the wallet and it was a doctor and he couldn't find it in himself to give me any reward for it not even a thank you at least I felt like God was looking down on me that day beaming I guess that in itself was worth it

this is why people I believe that are good and have good intentions if they find a wallet with something in it no matter how big or how small amount they don't return it because of this situation. they don't want to get accused of something that they didn't do

Some people always judge PEOPLE, but he didn’t have to do what he did. He could’ve kept all of it, he could have git all the money and throw it in the trash, but he didn’t do it and the owner should be ashamed hisself trying to get $3000 more which I don’t believe he did have that much.

Next time, just bring the wallet to a police station, or simply mail the wallet to the owner, with no return address, in both instances you remain anonymous. Mailing, is the better option, as police stations have cameras.

I'd make telephone contact with the owner, describe the property, (record the conversation, simultaneously); ask owner what amount of money (if any), in addition to other contents was in the property. Next, I'd telephone the local police & reiterate the events & conversation.

I was a custodial worker in a college for years, and I often found lost or forgotten valuables. I always found a way to return them. However, over the years, there were two or three who claimed I took some money out of their wallet or pocketbook. It was always inconvenient having to deal with people like that. There were attempts to get me fired, once a police call, etc. I never flinched. I would still do it again in a heartbeat. Just because someone says so doesn't make it true. I hadn't taken anything, didn't lie about anything, so I stood my ground. I had a good reputation for being a decent human being. That helped a lot. Kindness has a payback of threefold from God, or some might call it a higher power or the universe. That seems to manifest in my life. Whatever energy I put out is returned, whether good or bad. So I try for good.
